A small upright shrub with glossy green leaves of varying sizes depending on the variety. Chillies tend to be long, narrow, tapering fruit. The single flowers are an off-white (sometimes purplish) color while the stem is densely branched and up to 24ins tall.'Piri piri' also spelled peri peri, pili pili), also called African bird's eye chili, is a small but hot chilli (SHU 175,000 - 250,000) used in the preparation of piri piri sauce. A compact plant that can be grown in a pot. The upright chillies are approx. 1 -2 cms. long
