The perennial species tend to be short lived but they often self-seed. Most species are hardy but Linaria genistifolia ssp. dalmatica and Linaria triornithophora will not withstand long periods below freezing. 'Dwarf snapdragon' is a Spring or Summer annual snapdragon-like, plant, white, lavender or lilac-coloured.It prefers dry sunny conditions and a sterile, sandy soil, but also grows in partial sun and less dry conditions. It will also tolerate alkaline soil. 'Blue Eyes' has purple flowers with a yellow throat
