Evergreen Solomons Seal in the GardenTags plant encyclopedia

Disporopsis pernyi 'Sichuan Jade'

Evergreen Solomon's Seal

From Sichuan, China, adapts well to the Northwest of US. Makes dense clumps of upright stems clad in glossy evergreen leaves below which dangle white bells in spring. In spring, the plants are adorned with small white flowers but unless you're really short, you'll probably miss 'em. Disporopsis 'Sichuan Jade' multiplies fairly quickly in good rich soil.

Planting young plants

From Early Spring TO Early Spring

Plant out in enriched, evenly moist soil, preferably in partial shade. Avoid harsh sun exposures. Water deeply and regularly during first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Tolerates dry shade when established.
