Nylon hedgehog cactus, Echinocereus davisii

This cactus has a small spherical or cylindrical stem to over 30 centimeters tall. The stem is ridged and bears many sharp spines coloured red, yellow, white, purplish, or bicolored. The flowers are in shades of yellow-green, or occasionally red, with darker reddish midstripes.
