Eucryphia is a genus of mainly evergreen trees and shrubs. They like to have their roots in the shade, and their crowns in the sun. Eucryphia glutinosa is upright in habit it make a good specimen in larger gardens, eventually growing to about 8 metres. It grows best in a sheltered but sunny location on any soils except those that are waterlogged and rich in lime .

Propagation by cuttings
From Mid Summer TO Early Autumn
Semi hard wood cuttings are taken from the current years growth from late summer to mid autumn the bottom of the cuttings is hard and soft on the top. With a sharp knife take a cutting of about 14cms, remove lowest leaves, dip end into rooting hormone, and place round the edge of a pot filled with a suitable compost, water well, they must remain moist till rooted, place under glass but in semi shade.

Plant in a sheltered site that will let the roots have some shade. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or compost into the soil. and water wee.
