Fountain bamboo 'Pillar'
'Pilar' is a dense, clump-forming bamboo with arching, purple-tinged canes and slender leaves. H&S: 4m x 2.5m. Plant in fertile, moisture retentive soil, in sun or partial shade. A new nitida cross, quick and upright growth for sun and shade. This is an upright form of Fountain Bamboo with canes that arch at the top to give a rather graceful appearance. New canes are green and turn a deep purple as the plant matures. It is perfect for using as an informal hedge in a partially shaded position.
