Fouquieria columnaris
Boojum Tree
Boojum trees requires bright light and warm temperatures. They are native to the Baja California peninsula and parts of the Sonoran desert. It is an interesting cacti with an upright form and imposing height. Southern gardeners in arid regions can grow a boojum tree outdoors, whilst elsewhere, you will have to cultivate it in a greenhouse however, it will not reach the heights that wild plants can achieve. The trees resemble taper candles with tiny bluish-green leaves that drop off when the plant reaches dormancy during the summer months.

Planting
From Early Spring TO Early Spring
Young plants need light shade but can tolerate full sun when mature. Sandy, well-drained soil is a must with superior drainage, as they will suffer root rot if allowed too much water. If planting in containers, a quality cactus mixture is ideal but they will benefit from addendum nutrients to supplement the potting mix.
