Strawberry Purple Wonder in the GardenTags plant encyclopedia

Fragaria 'Purple Wonder'

Strawberry 'Purple Wonder'

The common garden strawberry (collectively known as strawberries) is widely grown for its sweet tasting, juicy red fruit. Strawberry plants are easy to care for and will provide an abundance of first class fruit for a numbers of years. When they come to the end of their fruiting lives they are easily propagated by removing the old plants and planting the runners. 'Purple Wonder' is the first purple strawberry - and the colour is right through the fruit. It is an early-fruiting variety, is rich in antioxidants, and has a full flavour.
