Gentiana - gentians - are alpine plants that can be annuals, biennials, herbaceous or evergreen perennials. They have showy blue, usually trumpet-shaped flowers. 'Crested Gentian' is a dense and low growing plant with true blue trumpet like flowers, the foliage is darkish green.

Propagating by offsets

Offsets are the baby plants that form at the base of some bulbs, and they are an easy way to propagate a plant. When the offsets have grown large enough to handle - and, hopefully, have some roots of their own,- gently break them away from the mother plant.
