Geraniums are easily grown and can transform problem places such as dry shade, hot sunny banks or moist shade. 'Elke' is a cultivar of G. sanguineum; a low-growing, bushy, spreading plant with semi-procumbent stems bearing deeply divided dark green leaves. The upward-facing flowers are soft lilac-pink or mauve.
