Water Avens

Geum are clump forming, long flowering pretty plants. Their colours range from white, shades of pink, yellows, orange to red. Flowers are borne on slender and branching stems, with well divided leaves. Butterflies are attracted to these plants. G. rivale sports nodding flowers and is low growing. It is useful for damp areas of the garden but will not grow in deep shade. There are many attractive cultivars, all with nodding flowers in a wide range of colours.
