Hibiscus Calyphyllus

Lemon Yellow Rosemallow

A genus of hardy and tender annuals, evergreen and deciduous shrubs or small trees. The tender, evergreen species such as H. rosa-sinensis, are popular conservatory or house plants in temperate climates. These plants require winter protection in these cooler regions and can be grown as pot plants. The hardy species such as H. syriacus are suitable for annual or mixed borders. Hibiscus Calyphyllus is a perennial, evergreen, rounded, shrub with large, velvety leaves, and that bears lemon-yellow flowers with deep-red to blackish centres, that close in the afternoon, and do not re-open. This decorative, nicely rounded, soft, bushy shrub has large velvet or hairy leaves. The flowers close early in the afternoon and do not re-open.
