Hibiscus 'Luna Red'

A genus of hardy and tender annuals, evergreen and deciduous shrubs or small trees. The tender, evergreen species such as H. rosa-sinensis, are popular conservatory or house plants in temperate climates. These plants require winter protection in these cooler regions and can be grown as pot plants. The hardy species such as H. syriacus are suitable for annual or mixed borders. 'Luna Red' is a dwarf hardy hibiscus. It presents deep red or burgundy flowers. It does not tolerate temperatures below 0 °C, in temperate regions it is best grown under glass. However, plants in containers can be placed outside during the summer months or moved into shelter during the winter months.
