Hibiscus syriacus - Rose of Sharon - is a very hardy, medium to large shrub. It blooms quite late in the season - from mid to late Summer into Autumn, usually. The 'Chiffon' series are compact and upright shrubs with double-flowered blooms with petals that look as though they are made from chiffon.'White Chiffon' is a vigorous deciduous shrub with dark green, shallowly lobed leaves and pure white flowers to 10cm across from late summer, with five large outer petals surrounding a centre of small, petaloid stamens.

Propagation by cuttings
From Early Summer TO Mid Summer
Semi hard wood cuttings are taken from the current years growth from late summer to mid autumn the bottom of the cuttings is hard and soft on the top. With a sharp knife take a cutting of about 14 cms, remove lowest leaves, dip end into rooting hormone, and place round the edge of a pot filled with a suitable compost, water well, they must remain moist till rooted, place under glass but in semi shade.
