Hippeastrum 'Rainbow'
Hippeastrum 'Rainbow'
Amaryllis is commonly used as a name for cultivars of the Hippeastrum genus, sold mainly as flowering bulbs, particularly in late autumn for flowering at Christmas in the northern hemisphere. These large bulbs are related to Amaryllis, but have been cultivated to grow indoors and bloom in Winter months. The colours and shape of the flowers are more varied than the outdoor Amaryllis. They have strap-like leaves and very large, colourful, trumpet-shaped flowers atop a leafless stem. 'Rainbow is double-flowered, and the blooms are layers of creamy-white and rose pink petals. The bulbs produce 2 or 3 stems, each bearing 4-6 blooms.

Flowering
From Late Autumn TO Late Autumn
If planted in late autumn, flowers will be on show in time for Christmas
