Hosta are popular perennials for shady areas. Grown for their architectural qualities and sumptuous foliage topped with lily-like blooms. The flowers appear in mid-summer. Hosta go completely dormant in the autumn, and the dying foliage can be removed any time before mid-spring. Easily divided in either spring or autumn. 'Canadian Blue' is a medium sized hosta. It has green-blue glaucous foliage and produces fragrant white-lavender blooms in summer. Leaves turn more blue with age, at maturity of about 5 years old. Requires shade to keep the colour.
