Plantain Lily 'Fire Island'

Hosta are popular perennials for shady areas. Grown for their architectural qualities and sumptuous foliage topped with lily-like blooms. The flowers appear in mid-summer. Hosta go completely dormant in the autumn, and the dying foliage can be removed any time before mid-spring. Easily divided in either spring or autumn. 'Fire Island' has bright yellow leaves and red petioles. Leaves darken with age, and it produces pale purple flowers.
