Hoya Lacunosa in the GardenTags plant encyclopedia

Hoya lacunosa var. lacunosa

Hoya 'Lacunosa'

Hoya lacunosa is a species of hoya with generally small leaves, white-yellow blooms, and dark green foliage that flowers prolifically once established. It's considered an easy hoya to care for, being fairly temperature-tolerant, and is suitable for not only greenhouses but most homes as well. Hoya lacunosa is a tropical vining plant, meaning that it will grow most prolifically with some additional warmth and humidity. This species does well growing in a hanging basket, but trellising lacunosa is also an option. When comfortable in its environment, it will often produce umbrels of white flowers with yellow centers. Lacunosa blooms smell very sweet, and can often fragrance entire rooms when grown indoors. This hoya is well regarded for its blooming capabilities, as it can develop peduncles and mature to blooming age earlier than other hoya species. Like all hoyas, hoya lacunosa will reflower from old peduncles as well as producing new ones as it grows more branches.
