Hymenosporum flavum
Native Frangipani
Frangipani is widely cultivated and usually grows to around 8 metres in height. In its native habitat, it can reach over 20 metres tall. It thrives in shaded positions, but flowers best in full sun. It prefers a well-drained soil with a high organic content. Young plants can be killed by frost but if planted in a sheltered position until about 1.5m high, will thrive in cooler areas, as long as they have access to water during hot dry spells.

Planting young plants
From Early Spring TO Early Spring
It prefers a well-drained soil with a high organic content, but is highly adaptable. Very young seedlings are easily killed by frosts but if kept in a sheltered position until about 4–5 feet high, will thrive in cooler areas, as long as they have access to water during hot dry spells.
