Perennial Candytuft 'Golden Candy'

Iberis can be annuals, perennials or sub-shrubs. They have narrow leaves, and flowers, often mildly scented, in white, pink or purple shades. It is often used as ground cover and is great in rockeries or along walls. Iberis sempervirens is a spreading sub-shrub with dark green shiny evergreen foliage and mildly scented dense flower heads in late Spring to early Summer. 'Golden Candy' is a low growing plant with chartreuse-yellow leaves, studded by clusters of small white flowers. Over time forms a clump covered in flowers.

Planting Outdoors spring

From Mid Spring TO Late Spring

Plant out into a sunny site and water in. Grows well in poor soils. Looks good in rock gardens or in walls.

 

Propagation by cuttings

From Mid Summer TO Early Autumn

Semi hard wood cuttings are taken from the current years growth from late summer to mid autumn the bottom of the cuttings is hard and soft on the top. With a sharp knife take a cutting of about 14cms, remove lowest leaves, dip end into rooting hormone, and place round the edge of a pot filled with a suitable compost, water well, they must remain moist till rooted, place under glass but in semi shade.

Flowers appear from early Spring through Summer, and some will re-bloom in early Autumn
