Kalanchoe tomentosa 'Super Fuzzy'
Kalanchoe Tomentosa 'Super Fuzzy'
Tomentosa is a popular houseplant with dark-red rimmed, velvety foliage. The kalanchoe tomentosa grows up to approximately 45cm with a thick stem that produces branches and many groups of leaves, once it matures. It is easy to care for. Kalanchoe tomentosa cv. 'Super Fuzzy' forms a rosette of leaves with long fair hairs that grow from all sides of its leaves and stem, and which are longer than those of its parent plant and gives it a more fuzzy appearance. It can grow up to 45cm (1.5 feet) tall. The hairy covering is a water conservation adaptation - it slows the movement of air over the surface of the leaves, reducing water vapour loss in transpiration. The whiteish colour reflects light, reduces the chances of overheating

Flowering
From Early Spring TO Early Spring
Although this plant can flower within it's natural habitat - it's rare to see flowers bloom indoors, so it's grown for primarily it's foliage within homes. If your lucky enough to get it to flower, then you will see lovely small tubular shaped flowers bloom at the tips of the branches.
Planting young plants
From Early Spring TO Early Spring
Use a cacti and succulent potting mix, or your own mix which drains easily (part sand). The panda plant is a slow grower which will only need re-potting once every 2 years and then less once it matures.
Propogation by cuttings
From Early Spring TO Early Spring
Leaf cuttings can be taken and planted in new soil during spring. Give the leaf cutting a week of drying out before re-potting, then you can expect them to begin rooting within 4 weeks.
