Lactuca Sativa 'Iceberg'

Lettuce is an annual vegetable for use as a salad vegetable. There are three main types: butterhead, crisphead and Cos, the first being smaller having soft leaves, the second crisp leaves and larger, the latter being conical, semi crisp, and tallish. 'Iceberg' is probably the most well-known of all the crisphead lettuces. It forms a tightly packed head of leaves, like a cabbage, that are mild in flavour and crisp.
