Lavatera trimestris is a tall , and upright, annual with rounded heart-shaped lower leaves, and upper leaves that develop 3-7 lobes. Pink or white flowers from within the leaf axils, appear from mid Summer to late Autumn, followed by disc-shaped segmented seed-heads. Can be treated as a half-hardy biennial by sowing seeds indoors in Autumn and overwintering the plants indoors. This method can produce flowers as early as late Spring. 'Mont Blanc' has white flowers
