Tea Tree 'Lemon Frost'

Tea Tree is an evergreen shrub or small tree originating in southeastern Australia and New Zealand. The leaves are small and elongated oval - often fragrant. The flowers are 5-petalled, saucer-shaped, and in shades of pink, red and white, and are attractive to bees and butterflies. Can be grown outdoors in mild Winter areas, as long as it is protected from frost (it will tolerate a light frost, once established), or can be grown in a container 'Lemon Frost' is thought to be a hybrid between Leptospermum petersonii and a form of Leptospermum. polygalifolium. In Summer it is almost completely covered by masses of single white flowers. The narrow foliage is lemon scented.
