Texas Sage, or Texas Barometer Bush, is a drought tolerant evergreen shrub with lavender blooms in the Summer. Commonly known as Texas sage, it is not a true sage. It requires minimal water, is easily shaped into hedges, and blooms over the entire surface. A number of popular cultivars are available.

Planting young plants
From Early Spring TO Early Spring
Easily grown in alkaline, gravelly, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun. Add dolomitic limestone to acidic soils. Plants thrive in gritty soils with minimal moisture. Sharp drainage is essential.

From Early Summer TO Mid Autumn
Rain or soil moisture triggers flowering (hence the common name). Flowers appear from early Summer until Autumn
