Leucothoe keiskei 'Royal Ruby'

Switch Ivy

Leucothoe is an evergreen broadleaf shrub, native to the USA. It is easy to grow in most soils, as long as the soil isn't alkaline. The leaves are glossy, and the flowers, which are usually white, are small, dangling and bell-shaped. Moist conditions are needed, and this is a shrub that does well in shade or partial shade. It will tolerate sunny conditions as long as there is plenty of water. 'Royal Ruby' is low-growing, and makes good ground-cover. It has glossy dark green leaves in summer turning red from autumn through to spring. In early Spring it has clusters of little white flowers
