Original:Plum-pink coloured flowers on short stems above evergreen rosettes of narrow fleshy leaves. New:Lewisias form a dense rosette of mid-green fleshy leaves. The flowers have many petals, and are in a range of colours, on 8" stems. The main requirement to grow these alpine plants is good drainage. 'Little Plum' has plum-coloured flowers

Plant Lewisia in early spring. Outdoors, set them in a well drained sunny position in rich soil containing plenty of gravel. The essential requirement for growing Lewisia is free-draining soil
