Tall, flowering perennials up to 60-80 cm. in height. A single, unbranched stem from a bulb with narrow, pointed leaves. Flowers are large and often fragrant, and in a range of colours. Flowers have six petals and prominent stamens. 'Red Alert' has fragrant dark red flowers.
