Limonium perezii

Perez's Sea lavender

Sea-lavenders normally grow as herbaceous perennial plants, growing 70 cm tall from a rhizome. They are cultivated in gardens for their flowers and for the appearance of the calyx, which remains on the plant after the true flowers have fallen, and are known as "everlasting flowers". Limonium perezii is a tall stemmed evergreen perennial with a shrublike habit. It has glossy leaves and bears small white flowers in summer but its deep blue calyces are much more conspicuous and attractive. It makes a good cut and dried specimen. They can withstand direct sea spray and drought conditions

Planting young plants

From Early Spring TO Early Spring

Plant Limonium in full sun in a south-facing position. They’re not fussy plants and will tolerate both acid and alkaline soils, although they do prefer a sandy soil. They will also do well planted against a south facing wall.
