'Carnforth' is a superb plant for a drought tolerant border. The flower colour is pale lilac and the flowering period is from mid to late summer. The leaves are gray-green and about 25 cm. high. The height of this perennial is 45 cm.

Planting young plants

Plant young plants in spring in well drained soil in an open, sunny position. L. alpina prefers gritty soil in a raised bed or in a pocket in a rock garden. Move self-sown seedlings to new positions in late winter or early spring.
