Planting young plants

From Early Spring TO Early Spring

Plant young plants in poor to moderately fertile, well-drained, moist, neutral to acid soil, in full sun or part shade with shelter from cold winds by offering the protection of a North or East facing fence or wall. Apply a rich organic compost to the planting hole and a good mulch around the base of the plant through its first two winters.
