Low Mallow

Malva are hollyhock-like plants which can be annual, biennial or perennial, some species of which are edible.The leaves are alternate and palmately lobed. The flowers have 5 petals and are .5 - 5 cms. in diameter. Malva pusilla grows rapidly as a weed in gardens and farmlands. It is considered hard to get rid of because of its long and tough taproots. Flowers bloom in groups of 2 to 5 at the base of the leaf stalks.
