Melampodium 'Showstar' is a bright and carefree flower that is not used nearly enough. Also known as a butter daisy, this sun-loving cutie gifts its grower with constant blooms and with a proliferative disposition. Melampodium is a delightful addition to your garden beds, borders, or containers.. Drought tolerant plant. Plant en masse in a well-drained border or use in a rock garden. Blackfoot daisy can be short-lived.

Planting young plants

From Early Spring TO Early Spring

Black Foot Daisy prefers sandy soils and gravel mulch; don't plant it in clay. It thrives in low fertility, well-drained soil. It is best planted en masse, in full sun and is well suited to the back of a rockery.

Melampodium have a long flowering season, and bear their yellow or white flowers from Spring right through until cold weather in Autumn or Winter
