Propagation
From Early Spring TO Early Spring
Moringa can be propagated from seed or cuttings. Direct seeding is possible because the germination rate of M. oleifera is high. Moringa seeds can be germinated year-round in well-draining soil. Cuttings of 1 m length and at least 4 cm diameter can be used for vegetative propagation.
Planting young plants
From Early Spring TO Early Spring
Prior to planting a young plant or seedling, dig a planting pit about 50cm in depth and the same in width. This planting hole helps to retain moisten in the root zone, enabling the young plants roots to develop rapidly. Compost or manure at the rate of 5kg per hole can be mixed with the fresh topsoil around the plant and used to fill the hole. Water well and keep moist until well established.
