Muscari - Grape Hyacinths - are small clump-forming perennials with densely-packed short spikes of fragrant deep-blue/purple bell-shaped flowers in Spring. It can be an invasive plant. Muscari armeniacum is the most common of the grape hyacinths found in the UK. The flowers are purple, blue, white or pale pink . M. armeniacum blooms in mid-Spring for 3-4 weeks. 'Blue Spike' has large, double mid-blue flowers (each stem carries multiple individual flowers instead of one).
