Planting young plants

From Late Spring TO Early Summer

Plant young seedlings in 10cm pots filled with rich garden loam. Plant to a depth of 3cm and cover the roots with soil and gravel. If leaves are present, avoid covering them with the soil. Set the pot in warm water to a depth of 5cm and try to maintain a water temperature of 15 - 16C. Give the potted plant as much light as possible and once your pond water has reached a temperature of 16C, you can transfer the lotus too a larger container and sink it into the pond.
