Propagating by seed in Spring

From Early Spring TO Mid Spring

Sow seeds in situ in Spring, in fertile, moist but free-draining soil. Sow 2mm deep into prepared and raked soil, in rows spaced 15 cms. apart. Germination usually takes 7-21 days. Seedlings will appear 6-8 weeks from sowing. Keep soil moist by watering gently with a fine rose on the watering-can. When the seedlings are large enough to handle, thin out to 50 cms. apart
