Tiger Pear

Opuntia aurantiaca is a succulent shrub which seldom exceeds 0.5 m in height. Plants consist of spiny, sausage-like, fleshy green segments or joints. During periods of drought, or when exposed to direct sunlight, segments take on a more reddish to purplish colour. Flowers are bright yellow.
