Sow seed on compost and cover lightly with compost that has been sifted, keep moist. The seed is like dust be warned. For a longer flowering period sow in succession and you can get a display into late summer.

They do not survive in hot dry conditions, apparently they do well in Scotland, but do not grow well or if at all where the summers are hot and dry.
