:Papaver somniferum is a subtype of opium poppy which grow to about 60 to 90cm tall and has thick, hairy stems and lettuce like leaves. The seed pods are well-suited for crafts and dried floral arrangements. Most annual varieties will readily self-seed. 'Violetta Blush' is a spectacular annual poppy. Fully double blooms in a fashionable blushed-lilac shade stand above strong stems of silver-green foliage.
