Flowering

From Late Summer TO Late Summer

Whorls of pink flowers with silvery bracts appear in late Summer

Propagating by seed

From Early Spring TO Mid Spring

Sow in a cold frame in Spring, onto moist, but drained seed compost. Barely cover seed. The ideal temp for germination (which may take approx. 2 weeks, but can take as long as 3 months) - or sow in situ in mid Spring. Transplant the seedlings when they are large enough to handle, and grow them on under glass. Harden them off before planting out in Summer

Planting

From Late Spring TO Early Summer

Plant out seedlings into a sunny, or partially sunny site in late Spring or early Summer, after hardening off the seedlings. Will grow in most soils, but moist, free-draining, loamy soil is preferred

Propagating by division

From Mid Spring TO Late Spring

Established clumps can be divided in Spring, and the divisions replanted where required.
