Pyracantha 'Sparkler'
Firethorn 'Sparkler'
Pyracantha is an evergreen, thorny shrub, also known as Firethorn. Useful as a hedging plant it has white flowers in Spring, followed by very colourful berries - yellow, orange or red - that give the shrub its common name of Firethorn. The berries provide colour all through Winter - if not eaten by birds! 'Sparkler' has variegated cream and green with tints of red in Autumn, and reddish new stems. In Spring small creamy-white flowers appear, and these are followed by orangey-red berries in late Summer.
