Rhodanthe are a group of plants native to Australia which are in the Asteraceae family. Specifically, Rhodanthe anthemoides is native to Eastern and South Eastern Australia. This species grows as a small perennial sub-shrub with narrow grey-green foliage, with white daisy like flowers. Flowers are long lived and flowering is from late summer to late autumn. 'Southern Star' is a compact, mounding white daisy with a yellow centre, blooming from early Spring and all through Summer.
