Propagating by seed

From Early Spring TO Mid Spring

Sow seeds in warm, moist seed compost, in early Spring. Patience needed, as seedlings grow slowly at first.

Planting

From Mid Spring TO Mid Spring

Plant in moist but free-draining and fertile soil in a sunny position, (with partial afternoon shade in warm climates). These plants are not really frost-tolerant, but might survive the Winter in a reasonably mild-Winter area, specially if given protection by being planted in a sheltered position - eg. against a wall

Flowering

From Late Spring TO Mid Autumn

These plants have a long flowering season, from late Spring all through Summer to mid Autumn
