Russian Sage 'Filigran'
Salvia yangii (previously known as Perovskia yangii) is a herbaceous perennial subshrub. Until 2017, it was separate to the Salvia genus and was classified under its own genus of Perovskia. However, DNA studies have since shown that it is so closely aligned to Salvia that it is now formally changed names. Russian Sage is native from Afghanistan to western China, and despite its common name it is not found in Russia. It has an upright branched habit, with square stems, and grey green foliage. It produces blue violet coloured flowers in the summer. 'Filigran' is an erect shrub with deeply-divided, scented, grey-green foliage which produces airy spikes of fuzzy blue flowers.

Propagation by Semi Hardwood Cuttings
From Mid Summer TO Mid Summer
Semi hard wood cuttings are taken from the current years growth from late summer to mid autumn the bottom of the cuttings is hard and soft on the top. With a sharp knife take a cutting of about 14 cms, remove lowest leaves, dip end into rooting hormone, and place round the edge of a pot filled with a suitable compost, water well, they must remain moist till rooted, place under glass but in semi shade.
