Senecio barbertonicus is easily propagated from softwood cuttings in late spring to summer. Take cuttings of the plant and let them dry for one or two weeks. Plant them directly in the ground or in a pot with well-drained soil.

Plant them directly in the ground or in a pot with well-drained soil. They can be planted in full sun or partial shade. They prefer slightly acidic to slightly alkaline soil, but can also tolerate poor soils. The plant needs moderate amounts of water from spring to autumn.
