Sprekelia formosissima is a bulbous perennial from Mexico, and can be planted and grown outdoors in warmer climates, or grown in pots in colder climates and brought under cover over winter. Sprekelia formosissima produces bright red flowers with narrow petals, with long anthers, and has strap-like green foliage.
