White Comfrey

Comfrey is a perennial deciduous plant that can be used for making a liquid fertiliser, as a green manure, or for making a herbal tea. Choose the growing site with care - it can grow for 20 years!. It can be invasive. The plant forms a clump. The leaves are oval, around 25 cms. long, and the clusters of flowers in late Spring and Summer are tubular bell-shaped and nodding. White comfrey has clusters of white flowers. It is non-invasive, and multiplies by self-seeding. Grows happily under trees.
