Tulip 'Calgary Flames' (Triumph)

Tulips are spring-blooming perennials that grow from bulbs, between 10 cms. and 70 cms., depending on the variety. Tulips have a single flowering stem, with strap-shaped leaves at ground level. The flowers are usually goblet-shaped, or star-shaped, with 3 petals and 3 sepals, in a wide range of colours, except blue (tulips with "blue" in their name are more violet, than blue) 'Calgary Flames' has ivory coloured goblet-shaped flowers with a yellow flush on each petal. It is a short variety, growing to around 25 cms.

From Late Summer TO Mid Autumn

Tulip bulbs are typically planted around late Summer and Autumn, in well-drained soils, normally from 4 to 8 inches (10 to 20 cm) deep, depending on the type. Species tulips are normally planted deeper.

Tulip flowers appear from late winter through to late spring depending upon the variety. Tulip flowers come in a wide variety of colors, except pure blue (several tulips with "blue" in the name have a faint violet hue).
