They can be deciduous or evergreen, most flower in Spring, and the clusters of usually fragrant flowers followed by berries, and often good Autumn leaf colours. .Davidii is an evergreen shrub with wrinkled, hairy dark green leaves. In Spring it bears clusters of pale pink flowers, followed by blue-black berries (that are poisonous)
